How to choose a Life Coach

You might be new to coaching or trying to find a Life Coach that best suits you. I want to offer you a few things you can think about when looking for a coach.

First just a quick note about coaching: In general coaching is a collaborative process. That means that the process and journey relies on both the client and the coach to be working together as a team. The coach is there to guide you, offer support, inspiration, motivation, nurture and care but it’s really about discovering your own answers, building on your own intuition, so that you can feel fully empowered in your life. What I say to all of my new clients is you will grow, change, heal and evolve only as much as you are open, willing and ready to.

What to keep in mind when looking for a Life Coach

  • Read through their website and see if you resonate with their words; are they speaking to you?
  • Call them and see if you can have a chat or a mini consultation over the phone to get a feel for their voice, energy and personality. Like any kind of relationship it’s good to have a rapport; see if you feel you would enjoy speaking and sharing your story with this person.
  • Listen and trust your intuition.  How do you feel when you read their words or listen to them speak? Tune into your body and find the answer.
  • Don’t be in a rush, do your research and make your decision based on what feels best for you. Don’t feel pressured or intimidated by anyone. Take it at your own pace.
  • Coaching takes an element of trust and openness so it’s important that you feel you trust your coach and are comfortable with them.

As with anything in life, things will present themselves when they are ready to so trust that you will find the right coach for you, and you will grow and evolve into the person that you want to be, all in its own perfect timing.
